In September 2005, ETS, the company that produces the TOEFL®, began offering the test in a new format. The new test, called the TOEFL Internet-based Test (TOEFL iBT), will be phased in throughout 2006. The computer- and paper-based tests have already been phased out in several countries, and will be phased out in their entirety in 2006. Peterson’s is redeveloping its offerings to more closely align with the new exam.
